Skills Competition

This years U.A. National Apprenticeship welding Competition was held from June 12th - 16th at U.A. Local 144 in Montréal. Hailie Rogers (Eastern Canada), Justin Ruest (Central Canada), and Brandon South-Flett (Western Canada) competed against each other in a tough competition including Practical, Theory, Rigging, Brazing, and Oxy-Fuel Cutting portions.

After 3 days of fast paced competition UA Canada is proud to announce that Justin Ruest will be moving on to the U.A. International Competition in Ann Arbor Michigan at this Years ITP week at Washtenaw Community College. The competition will run from August 13th to the 17th with the winner being declared on the 17th.

Congratulation to Justin Ruest, welder apprentice with UA Local 71 for winning the UA National Competition last June in Montreal. Justin had the privileged to represent UA Canada at the UA International Competition in Ann Arbor Michigan last August to compete against 5 welder apprentices from USA.
